I forgot my Client Area password. What should I do?
You can reset your password by selecting ‘Forgot Password’ on the login page. Then, we will send instructions for changing your password to the email address you registered.
What is required to verify my account?
Customers are required to verify their accounts for identification and security purposes by our customer due diligence process, for example, the verification of your name, date of birth, ID number, phone number, e-mail address, payment methods, etc.
Where can I find my account number?
Your account number can be found in the top left-hand corner of your MetaTrader 5 screen. You can also find your account number in the email and Secure Client Area that you received when you opened your account.
Where can I find my login credentials?
You can find your login details in the email you received after your registration.
Are there any restrictions/limits to internal transfers?
- You can only make internal transfers between your own trading accounts - Transfers can only be made in the currency of those accounts. - There are no minimum/maximum limits to internal transfers.
Can I deposit if my current balance is negative?
Yes, you can. Simply contact Customer Support or our Sales Department to correct the negative balance on your account.
Can I request a withdrawal while I have open trades?
Yes, this is fine, providing you have sufficient free margin in the accounts to cover the withdrawal amount.
Can I withdraw to any bank account?
You can withdraw to any bank account provided the account is in your name.
Do you charge any fees for deposits?
We do not charge any deposit fees.
Why was my internal transfer declined?
- Insufficient free margin.
Why was my withdrawal request declined?
Your request was possibly declined because of one of the reasons below: - Incorrect payment details. - Insufficient free margin to cover open positions. - Payment method used for withdrawal is different from the one used to deposit.
Are there any subscription fees for the platform?
No, MetaTrader 5 is offered completely free of charge.
Can I log into my account via your website and my mobile device at the same time?
No. You are only able to access your account through either the website or your mobile device at any one time. If you attempt to log in to both platforms at the same time you will be disconnected from your previous session.
Do you charge commission for internal transfers?
No, all internal transfers are free.
Does the platform display the bid and ask price?
The charts will always display the bid price. To see the ask price click right in the chart, select Properties – Show and check the ‘Show Ask Price Line’ box.
How can I view more trading instruments from my mobile?
Select the ‘+’ symbol on the top of your application select the category and trading instruments you want to view.
How do I add an indicator?
Drag the indicator over from the Navigator window onto your chart and it will automatically fix the chart.
What can cause the closure of my position?
Positions can be closed for any of the following reasons: margin call, execution of a predefined Stop Order, manual closure.
What trading platforms are available?
LONMARKETS offers the MetaTrader 5 on various desktop and mobile devices. You can find more information on our MetaTrader 5 page.
When I try to place a trade it tells me ‘Market Closed’, what should I do?
This error message usually appears if it is outside trading hours, or the instrument is no longer available to trade.
Can I long and short an instrument at the same time?
Yes, this is called ‘hedging’.
How do company dividend announcements affect my trades?
If you have a buy position, for example, on a company that announces a dividend, your account will be credited/debited before the market opening on the day the stock goes 'ex-dividend'. Here's a typical example: • Apple announces a 15cent dividend • You currently hold 3000 units of Apple • 15cent x 3000 = $450 • $450 will be credited to your CFD account. Please note that the amount you are credited or debited will be subject to the relevant tax holding rates according to the region in which the share is listed.
My order was stop-out. Why?
Your order will be stop-out when the margin level of your trading account goes below 20%. This will trigger a stop-out, and your positions will start closing, starting from the most unprofitable.
What happens to my positions if I leave them open overnight?
Your position will remain open and will be rolled over (at a swap charge) to the next trading day. You can find our swap rates by clicking right on the Market Watch and checking Specification.
What is the lowest volume I can trade?
Please note that the minimum trading volume you can trade is 0.01 lots.
Why does my trade open with a negative value?
Because of the spread and commission (for Raw account) being applied.
How can I calculate my free margin?
Free Margin = Equity – Margin
How can I calculate swaps?
There are two ways to calculate swap. First, you should check the swap type of related instrument from the specification on MetaTrader 5. If the swap type of the instrument is “in points”: Volume * Swap Rate * number of nights On the other hand, if the swap type of the instrument is “in percentage”: Volume * Opening Price * Swap Rate as percentage / 360 * number of nights And the conversion rate is another important point.
How can I calculate the margin?
Margin = Notional value / Leverage Example: 1 lot EUR/USD at 1:1000 Leverage 100,000 EUR / 1000 = 100 EUR For CFDs = Volume * Contract Size * Opening Price / Leverage Example: 1 lot XAUUSD 1 * 100 * 1,263.14 / 500 = 252.63 USD
How do I calculate the value of a pip?
We quote currency pairs by "5, 3, and 2" decimal places. 0.0001 or 0.01 x notional value (depends on the currency – 4th decimal for 5 decimal currencies and 2nd for 3 decimal currencies) Example: 1 lot of EUR/USD (0.0001/ 1.13614) * 100,000 = 8,80 EUR = 10 USD
How is my trading account equity calculated?
Equity = Balance + Credit + Profit/Loss + Swap + Commission
How is the margin level calculated?
Margin Level = Equity / Margin x 100
